Book cover illustration (Thomas. M. Disch - Concentration Camp).
CONCENTRATION CAMP by ~aspius is definitely one of those images that "speaks for itself." The emotional depth is moving and it really gives the viewer something to think about. (

Wow. I was looking through pictures from concentration camps for a school project on the Holocaust, and due to my selected theme, this just stands out. It represents so very well the dehumanization of those in the camps. I was wondering if I may feature it in my collage of photos for English class? It is strictly for school and non-promotional, and I will even hand in to the teacher a paper stating that you created this work of art. Please let me know your answer soon.
its an emotional thing for me to see atleast, for all i know you could have pictured my great grandmother and grandfather, but yes...i do like this, but this was the start of our slurs that most people yell out in my school is "Bar code" -_- i dont understand, but at the same time.........just......emotional
Stumbled across this art in my friend's favorites. I find it a wonderful piece of art. What ever happened back then, Its kinda over with now. There might still be some. But my gosh, Its not like we're going to stop it, It's life. Don't mind comments like that. If they have nothing good to say, then they shouldn't say it at all.
I find people like that oddly annoying. Posting comments that aren't suppose to be there is very immature. What people aren't understanding is its not on what happened years and years ago, Its the fact of how people express their art. And I believe every art should be treasured.
Note, I am a very morbid person, and damn proud, so I'm going to favor this.
very painful ..... to look at this picture .... it takes you there ....U managed to make that alive I sort of ...want to help ...but ............ I feel pain inside of me .., that shocking time touched my family
The concepts that you portray are well done, it really stood out to me. Good job on being able to capture the emotion, you sure do have a talent. Many times I have tried to capture the way I feel about things like concentration camps, death camps and containment camps, but I've never been able to. You truly do have a talen
..................................i just finished holocaust lit. as an elective i took for 9th grade......i learned so much that we musn't forget........some of the best but offal sad stuff i have seen....good meaning of that hell................
This is funny because, the horizontal lines in your composition should make me feel balanced, but I do not feel relaxed or at ease AT ALL!!! I definately feel as lifeless as that person in your artwork. Good job with capturing emotion.
I love this picture and what it represents. I love how you have the numbers all over their body to symbolise how the "prisoners" were just treated as livestock products. The barebed wire over the mouth and eyes ties the entire thing together and makes it the most moving and impacting (to me it says they were silenced brutally and were forced to see nothing by agony) *faves* Can't express how much I adore this picture. Wonderful job.
This is amazingly well done. A lot of times its hard to do art about the holocaust because the piece has to fit the event. It's the same to build memorials to such events. You've rendered the brutality and the mentality of this historical event so well.
